For nearly three years, starting back in 2017 the rumblings of a new team forming was heard around southern Oregon.
 
In July of 2019, the Berserkers appeared to be on the cusp of hitting the field against the Central Oregon Outlaws, Crook County Mountain Men and Douglas County Timberwolves of the PNFL, however those plans collapsed and the team was on hold once again.
 
Finally in 2020, the Basin Berserkers took the field and were swept away in a 55-6 rout by the Timberwolves.  Then, as fortune would have it, the country shut down due to the Covid-19 scare and the team was shelved once again.  Later in August an exhibition game with the Rose City Swarm turned into a 78-0 rout.

In the fall of 2020 it was announced that the Berserkers would merge with the Medford Warriors to form the Southern Oregon Warriors.  The team would take the field in 2021 as the Berserkers against Emerald City.

The Berserkers were planned to be in a newly formed "national" league in 2022 with the Rogue Valley Warriors, Southern Oregon Storm and Fresno Stallions.  The "United Developmental League" did not take shape and none of the advertised Oregon teams made it to the field.
