Following the shut down of the Hermiston Hurricanes, Jorge Martinez and Jeff Knowles began the process of building a team in Waitsburg winning approval of the city school board to play on their field for 2013.  The Elite secured longtime Stars running back Brandon Tate for the 2013 season.

The Elite struggled to a 4-3 regular season in the Washington Football League, falling to the Spokane Wolfpack in the playoffs 37-30 having defeated Spokane 10-2 in week two.

The WFL began to shrink in 2014 leading to an abbreviated regular season the Elite supplemented with two non-league games with the Idaho Matadors and Puget Sound Outlaws, victories that bolstered the record to 4-1 leading into a rematch with the Wenatchee Rams in Brandon Tate's first foray as head coach.  The Rams battled Waitsburg to an overtime loss in April, but like Spokane the year before, avenged the loss and sent Waitsburg out of the playoffs 24-17.

After a 2-2 start to the season, the Elite shut down for the remainder of the 2015 season and did not return to action.  Brandon Tate left to form the Tri City Rage for the 2016 season where he would hang up his cleats after a decade as the most highly decorated semi-pro running back in Eastern Washington taking up the mantle of owner and head coach.
