In August of 2013 the Glacier Knights became the Flathead Monsters, leaving the RMFL.

The Washington Football League voted in the Monsters organization for the 2014 season playing a shortened season with 5 teams, becoming the first Northwest league since 1996 to represent three states.  The Monsters kicked off against former RMFL rival Gallatin Valley before a rude introduction to the WFL by Spokane.

The 2015 season was expanded to Home-and-home series of games with the Waitsburg team facing disciplinary action and being suspended at the end of the season leading to the cancelation of the Monsters regular season finale.  The Monsters recorded their franchise first victory on April 25 over the Palouse Thunder.  The Rams crushed Flathead in the playoffs enroute to a WFL championship.

In 2016 the Monsters made their return to the Rocky Mountain League earning two victories over the Big Sky Avalanche.

The 2017 squad competed hard and finally broke the win column over the Nevada Nighthawks for the fourth victory for the franchise.  2018 and 2019 continued the Monsters steady progression of improvement in the RMFL, however Covid Shutdowns in Montana put a halt to Flathead for the season and ended up being the death nail for the entire RMFL as a league.

Joining with the Idaho Contact League for the 2021 season, Flathead had it's best win total in franchise history up to the that point going 5-5 however the story of the season was a 5-0 start including a win over the Idaho Black Tide, perennial ICFL powerhouse.  The wheels came off after that win, as the Monsters lost the next five including two massive losses to GNFA champion Idaho Mustangs by a combined 144-0.

The one-season venture into the ICFL was concluded, and the rebranded Montana Monsters debuted in the newly formed Mountain West Football League for 2022.

2022 was a struggle as the Monsters only managed to post victories over the Sawtooth Diamondbacks in a 2-5 campaign
