Located 16 miles southeast of Billings, Laurel became home to the "Loco Express" in 2014 as a new entrant to the RMFL.  Ken Blankenship guided the team to a 6-4 mark in 2014 and the top seed out of Montana in the 2015 season along with the Idaho Mustangs.  Both teams made it to the second round of playoffs before being knocked out by Utah-based teams (Shock, Revolution).

Blankenship opted to move the team to Billings and rebrand the team the Xtreme for the 2016 season.  Billings would again make the Rocky Mountain League playoffs in 2016 before falling for the third time on the season to the Great Falls Gladiators, the only defeats on a 7-3 season.

Moving up to the top tier of the RMFL AAA division for 2017, the Xtreme earned back-to-back .500 seasons.

2019 would be a break-out season for Billings as Rocky Mountain League embarked on it's final season after over 20-years of continuous operation.  An offense with weapons coupled with a newfound defense took Billings to a 9-0 season, dispatching fellow Montana franchise Flathead Monsters 53-3.  The RMFL championship would feature a battle of undefeated teams as the Idaho Falls Mustangs proved to be the juggernaut of the Northwest in a 42-0 shutout of one of the best Montana teams put on the field in the 2000's.

Covid-19 lockdowns followed for the 2020 season shutting down football in Montana.  Coach Blankenship shifted focus to his growing construction business and the Xtreme were closed down.

Ken Blankenship, after starting his semi pro career as a player in 1993 out of Nevada, expanded his coaching resume from 2012 through 2019 in Montana building one of the best teams from the state in many decades.  Prior to his move to Montana, Blankenship was elected to the American Football Association Hall of Fame in 2012, the Minor League Football Hall of Fame in 2014, and in 2024, earned his place in the Greater Northwest Football Hall of Fame.
