Fifteen years after the original North Bend Independents played in Southwest Oregon, an alumni charity group returned to the field to take on their old rivals.

Put together to raise money for the Elks Club Christmas fund, the 1931 charity game with Marshfield ended in a tie in large part due to the sloppy field conditions.  The most spectacular play of the day was provided when Wallace dragged down Marshfield's Pat Maginnis after a 40-yard return.  The tackle saved a touchdown and the teams battled to a stalemate in raising $200.00 after raising $500 in 1930.  That game also ended in a scoreless tie.  Ellsworth Morton earned team MVP nods for the game.  The team wore the jerseys from Myrtle Point High.

E.A. Brix was a unanimous All-Coast selection in 1926 from Oregon.  Coach Vic Adams won 16 varsity letters in college at Pacific University.

Wilson Graham was a Pop Warner All-Pacific Coast honoree from Pacific University.  Ellsworth Morten was a 2-year letterman from Oregon and All-County (1924).

When the 1932 team was being formed, it was almost entirely the North Bend High of 1924 front line players.  Harry Graham scored the first touchdown in the 3-year old series just 2 minutes before halftime.

North Bend was one of many alumni teams that rose up during the Depression Era to give communities moral support and raise funds for various charities.
