The rise and the fall. A semi pro story that can be told
everywhere, the Generals became another in the lineup of "all star"
champion to fleeting memory.
The Generals, with all of the promise of Division 1 offensive firepower
from Boise State, good coaching and a seemingly solid front office
discovered a defense is necessary in the RMFL. Scoring points
wasn't necessarily a problem in 2012, however stopping other teams was.
The "team that barely practiced" lost tight high scoring battles and was
dropped in the playoffs by the Oilers finished 4-5 on the season.
Changing philosphy and finding some defense, the Generals burned bright
for 6 weeks displaying that high powered offense, this time coupled with
a defense. Outscoring opponents 322-0 enroute to a 6-0 record,
Boise finished undefeated and RMFL Champions in their second season.
Fate turned quickly as roster turnover on the field as well as off
brought the franchise tumbling to a 3-5 record and the Idaho
Matadors nailing the coffin shut with a 24-7 win to end the 2013 season.
