Flu hit the team and forced the cancelation of the Nov 4 matchup with the Portland University second squad.  After an 0-3 season, the team was disbanded and equipment issued requested back in February 1947.  The Chiefs would live on as a basketball and baseball organization.  "Bus" Travis would become the Roseburg Benchwarmer Club President in 1947, a booster club dedicated to Roseburg athletics.
