1933 "California" Playoff rules were implemented to break a 0-0 tie between Hub and Dulbin Gulch on Oct 22.

Danny Crowley and Jack McCarthy , both former mates at Portland University, teamed up to make the yardage difference in overtime of the 1940 championship playoff with the Anodes to win the League title.  In the unique to league structure, with the regulation game tied 0-0, the teams took turns on 5 alternating plays and the one holding the yardage advantage at the end was awarded the title of Champion.  One yard was the difference and Hub Addition claimed victory.
