Forming in late 2016, the Corvallis Roughriders opened play in the Portland-based Pacific Northwest Football League (PNFL) in 2017. Defeating the Roseburg Thunder for the franchise first victory, Corvallis finished with a 2-5 record in season one.

Struggling in year two, the Pacific Northwest Cavaliers became the only victim on the schedule during a 1-5 season. Benji Wilson was named the Pacific Northwest League MVP starring for Corvallis in all three phases of the game.

The team managers announced in October of 2018 the team was ceasing due to changes within the PNFL including a shift from a January start to March and finances.
