Multnomah claims to have sent its reserves to play Astoria in the Dec 13, 1903 matchup, however at least four playing that day were regular starters of the "big" team.  The MAAC would not agree to a Portland-area playoff game leaving Astoria standing undefeated and the title of Northwest Champ in dispute.
