2019 Northwest Player of the Year

Dashun Salgado Jr.

Wide Receiver

South Sound Nighthawks

A part of three Washington-based semi-pro Championship teams, it was 2019 where Salgado, a rangy 6'3" receiver burst from the shadows to claim the Player of the Year award.  Salgado previously played for the Wenatchee Rams (2018) and Puyallup Nation (2017).

Leading the South Sound Nighthawks to the NCFL Championship, "DayDay" scored three touchdowns over rival Portland, the only team to score a victory over the 9-1 Nighthawks during the season, enroute to Game MVP honors.

Salgado marks the first non-QB offensive player to win the award since 2014 when fellow receiver Isaiah Smith won the honor with the Portland Raiders.

Even with the Nighthawks ability to spread the ball around to 15 different receivers on the season, and scoring in the ground game, Salgado snared 12 TD passes on the season, five in the playoffs and championship while also throwing for two scores.  Dashun Salgado Jr. was an all around weapon in 2019.
